Love, such a volatile word that we use
To express some feelings deep down inside.
But these days love is a word we abuse,
Infatuation and love now collide.
Love is confused for it’s much lesser foe,
One that always gets past your defences.
Lust steals the hearts of many in the end.
It clouds the mind, but pleasures the senses.
Lust sweeps you away to a world far off,
But it’s a world that is doomed from the start.
No substance; Just looks, and people may scoff
At the lack of use of your head and heart.
So keep lust at bay, let love find a way,
Right into your heart, for there it will stay.
